Lorraine Pereira began her career in education as a third-grade math teacher at Cypress Christian School in 2010. She taught math, history and cursive handwriting for six years at CCS. Prior to that, she served for six years on church staff at Cy-Fair Christian Church. She has dedicated seven years to the Huff Learning Center, serving as a Search and TEACH Therapist and offering valuable support services through the Academic Skills Coaching Program in elementary.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in academic studies from Sam Houston State University. She completed NILD Level 1 training in 2013, and Search and TEACH Training in 2018. Lorraine is passionate about young children and early intervention to help support learners as they transition from year to year in elementary school. Her goal for every student is to strengthen their weaknesses, reinforce their strengthens, build confidence and instill in them a passion for learning, creativity and the love of Jesus.
She has been married to her college sweetheart, David, for almost 20 years and they have two elementary-age children. She enjoys loving on her own kids by being a baseball and musical theater mama, playing outside, baking and traveling. She also enjoys cuddling, exercising and walking with the best dog ever; her yellow-lab, Lou-Lou. Some of their most memorable trips include visiting Rome, London, Berlin, Costa Rica, Mexico and various cities stateside. Micah 6:8 is a verse that continues to stick close to her heart, “Seek justice, love mercy, walk humbly with your God.”
