How to Apply to Cypress Christian School

Admissions Requirements

Spiritual Match

At least one parent must give a written account of how they came to know the Lord and be in agreement with the CCS Statement of Faith & Doctrine and the Mission Statement.

Behavioral Match

Students must have a record of good behavior.

Academic Match

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) – Students applying to transitional kindergarten (TK) are given a developmental assessment to determine developmental age and proper placement. There is also a required observation.

Kindergarten – Students applying to kindergarten are given a learning readiness screening and a developmental assessment to determine developmental age and proper placement. There is also a required observation.

Grade 1 – Students applying to grade 1 are given a learning readiness screening and a developmental assessment to determine developmental age and proper placement. They must also test on or above grade level on the reading and math sections of the CCS entrance exam and meet the minimum required reading level, to be determined by administration of the Fountas & Pinnell reading assessment.

Grades 2-5 – Students applying to grades 2-5 must test on or above grade level on the ISEE Test and meet the minimum required reading level for their grade, to be determined by administration of the Fountas & Pinnell reading assessment. Students are asked to provide standardized and/or achievement test scores if taken within one year of the application date.

Grades 6-12 – Students applying to grades 6-12 must test on or above grade level on the ISEE Test. Students are asked to provide standardized and/or achievement test scores if taken within one year of the application date.

New Student Admissions Process

Cypress Christian School utilizes an online admissions application for new students.

  2. Select – Create an Account
  3. Once your account is created, log in to your account.
  4. Select – Create a New Student Application for each child you wish to enroll. You will then have the flexibility to log in and out of your account and access your open application(s).

After submitting the application, along with the non-refundable application fee, you will be able to track your admissions status by logging into your account.

Once the application is submitted, the Admissions Office will contact you to schedule testing.

Transitional Kindergarten (TK)

Kindergarten

  • Gesell Developmental Observation
  • SEARCH Screening for learning readiness
  • Fountas & Pinnell reading assessment plus a writing sample (for mid-year admission)
  • Kindergarten Observation

 

First Grade

  • Gesell Developmental Observation
  • SEARCH Screening for learning readiness
  • Q4 Kindergarten Assessment with writing sample
  • Fountas & Pinnell reading assessment

 

Second through Fifth Grade

  • ISEE Exam – reading, math and a writing sample
  • Fountas & Pinnell reading assessment

 

Sixth through 12th Grade

  • ISEE Exam – reading, math and a writing sample

 

Students are asked to provide standardized and/or achievement test scores if taken within one year of the application date.

The Admissions Office will contact you to schedule a family interview once the applicant’s file is complete and all requirements have been met. Both parents and student(s) are required to meet with administrators.

Families will be called by their division principal to inform them of their admissions acceptance decision.
