BLUE & WHITE NIGHT 2023
On August 18, 2023, with a turnout of well over 1,100 attendees, including a large majority of our 102 new families, Blue & White Night was an enjoyable event that successfully glorified and dedicated the school year to our Savior. Students from kindergarten to 12th grade, along with their families, came together as one community for a gathering filled with fellowship, great food, praise, worship and more.
The event was anchored by our students themselves, with seniors Mariana Van Dyk and Robby Mynes skillfully hosting as emcees. The spotlight also shone bright on our incredible student band, City on a Hill, comprised of talented CCS students; Aidan Salazar, Ali Richard, Ashleigh Townsend, Emily Muse, Erica Davenport, Gray Layton, Jackson Broussard, Logan Oliverson, Micah Humphrey and Rayne Harris. This band led all the attendees in a youthful worship session. Adding to the spirited atmosphere of the night, the varsity cheer team energized the crowd with a program that showcased our cheerleaders and our Warrior Dance Team. Warrior Cheer and Dance were joined by our talented Warrior Band, under the direction of Dr. Christopher Witschonke, who lent a joyful noise to the festivities.
The gathering also served as a platform to recognize the remarkable achievements of students in academics, fine arts and athletics during the 2022-2023 academic year. Our spring sports teams were highlighted for winning four state titles to finish the year strong. All fall sports teams and new coaches were introduced and appeared to be up to the challenge of matching our spring success.
Appreciation is extended to the Director of Advancement, Craig Soudelier, Mary Granato, and their team of volunteers for orchestrating the event seamlessly. Special acknowledgment was reserved for CCS Choral Director Amber Ward for her instrumental leadership in mentoring the band and to coaches Kelly Dennis, Terri Johnson and Jennifer Mestayer for raising the roof on CCS spirit.
Anticipation for an exceptional school year ahead was palpable, and the rallying cry of “Go, Warriors!” echoed as a testament to the spirited enthusiasm within the school community.
We are looking forward to a great school year!
